Event details
Saturday 1 & Sunday 2 February 2025
10am to 4pm | £185 per person, includes materials, lunch and garden entry
In this weekend workshop, you'll learn how to design, carve, ink, and print your very own multi-coloured jigsaw linocut print.
About the Workshop
Working with experienced tutor, Diane Cooper, you’ll be guided through the process of creating a multi-colour print using the jigsaw technique.
You’ll learn to break down an image into different sections to form an effective design. You'll select your own colour palette, carve each piece of your design, and ink up the individual sections in your chosen colours. Finally, you will reassemble the pieces and use hand burnishing to bring your print to life.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll print a small edition of your design, and can take home your carved lino block for future use.
You’re welcome to bring your own images for inspiration or select from those provided.
Important Information
Included in the cost of the workshop are all materials, a locally sourced graze box lunch from the Chatsworth Farm Shop each day of the course, and the opportunity to explore the Chatsworth Garden after each session when it is closed to general visitors.
No previous experience in printmaking is required, and the workshop is designed for adults (18+). Please note that printmaking can be messy, so we recommend bringing an apron or wearing suitable clothing.
Some parts of the session may be spent taking inspiration from the garden, walking in all weather. Please wear suitable footwear and clothing.
Tea and coffee will be provided.
Meeting Point
Please meet at the top garden gates (near the Stables) at 9.50am before each session.
