This course will be tailored to suit different experience levels, so is suitable for anyone; whether you're new to printmaking, have completed the Beginner’s Printmaking course at Chatsworth or have previous experience in printmaking.
The course will cover a variety of techniques over the sessions, including observational drawing techniques, safe use of tools, mark making, transferring your design and printing techniques.
The Old Potting Shed is a step free, accessible venue but please contact education@chatsworth.org if you have any questions about your specific needs.
Part of the session will be spent taking inspiration from the garden, walking in all weather. Please wear suitable footwear and clothing.
Please meet at the top garden gates (near the Stables) at 9.50am before each session. Tea and coffee will be provided.
Activities will include:
- Monoprints – Drawing from pot plants grown in the service glasshouse at Chatsworth and learning how ink responds to line and pressure.
- Linocut prints – Carry out observational drawing and develop these in the studio to design and prepare your linocut. Create prints on different surfaces and explore collaged grounds to print on to.
