Cast and crew

Steven Knight’s Peaky Blinders is a 1920s post-war English crime series set in Birmingham. It follows gangster family the Shelby’s, headed by Thomas ‘Tommy’ Shelby, in the aftermath of the First World War.

Chatsworth features as aristocratic horse-trainer May Carleton's mansion in series two of Peaky Blinders. Tommy contracts May to train his horse for the Epsom races - as he plans to take control of the racecourses in the south.

With Cillian Murphy starring as Thomas Shelby, Charlotte Riley as May Carleton and Annabelle Wallis as Grace Burgess, who all feature in the episodes shot at Chatsworth.

Locations

Filming took place in summer 2014. The Painted Hall, Library, Guest Bedrooms and the Great Dining Room were all transformed for the shoot; the garden was also used as Tommy approaches May’s home.
