As part of our Celebrating the Cascade campaign, we're staging a programme of events themed around wellness, creativity and water-play for individuals and families.
Wellness
The wellness events will encourage a deeper connection with the gardens and woods by creating opportunities for gentle movement and a focus on nature. Spending calm time away from daily routines among the waterscapes can be awe-inspiring and our Bud, Flower and Berry wellness days and also Tai chi, Go with the Flow and We Dance Free sessions aim to achieve this. Feel at one with your surroundings or simply try something new, on your own or with your friends and family, in the beauty of nature.
Playfulness
Other events tap into the playfulness of the Cascade with a range of water play and creative arts sessions inspired by the water-based landscape. Water play can be a real thrill, and we would love for you to enjoy the sounds, smells and feelings that you can experience when playing with water.
Sharing stories
We'll also share stories of the Cascade and Chatsworth's water artery, which we hope will spark your curiosity and encourage you to explore places you otherwise may not have ventured on your visit.
Guided walks and talks will showcase the different history, science and environmental stories of the remarkable gravity-fed waterworks in the garden.

About The National Lottery Heritage Fund
The National Lottery Heritage Fund is the largest funder for the UK’s heritage. Using money raised by National Lottery players we support projects that connect people and communities to heritage. Our vision is for heritage to be valued, cared for and sustained for everyone, now and in the future.
From historic buildings, our industrial legacy and the natural environment, to collections, traditions, stories and more. Heritage can be anything from the past that people value and want to pass on to future generations. We believe in the power of heritage to ignite the imagination, offer joy and inspiration, and to build pride in place and connection to the past.
