Making the most of your membership

Below, we've outlined some of the benefits included in your Friends membership.

Some benefits are subject to terms and conditions, such as availability throughout the year and booking requirements. We encourage you to familiarise yourself with these to help you make the most of your membership.

Visiting the house, garden and farmyard

Unlimited access to the house, garden, farmyard and playground, plus free parking during open season (March - January) is included with your membership. You also benefit from unlimited access to the farmyard and playground when it opens for February half-term. 

How to book

During busy periods, such as weekends and school or bank holidays, we recommend that you book your tickets in advance.

Simply visit the book tickets page via the link below, select your required ticket type then enter your Friends membership number and the email associated with that number. You'll find your membership number printed on your card.

If you wish to buy guest tickets, your 10% discount will be automatically applied once you have verified your membership.

To book tickets for visits over Christmas (November - January), please see the 'Chatsworth Events' section below. Please note that Christmas tickets usually go on sale in the summer, and you will be advised in advance by email when they are available for you to book.

Exclusive Friends Events

Snowdrop Walks | 28 January, 4 & 18 February 2026 - sorry, sold out.

Exclusive to Friends, join this gardener led tour of Chatsworth's emerging Snowdrop collection, staged when the garden is closed to other visitors. 

Tickets are limited, so early booking is recommended. 

Spring Wreathmaking Workshop | 4 March 2006

Exclusive to Friends, join the Chatsworth Floristry team for a masterclass in Spring wreathmaking using foliage and other materials foraged from the estate, and sourced from local suppliers.

Friends Season Preview | 20 March 2026

Visit our 2026 exhibition and explore the house, garden, farmyard and playground before anyone else at our Friends Preview Day.

Friends Garden Party | 4 July 2026

Join us in the garden for our annual Friends get-together. Bring a picnic and experience live music, tractor and trailer rides, children's entertainment and a firework finale. This event is exclusive to Chatsworth Friends and their guests.

From 2026, there will be a small charge for tickets to this event: Friends adults £5, and Friends children £2.50. Tickets for guests will be priced at adults £16.50, and children £8.

Chatsworth events

Entry to these events is included with Friends membership. We recommend you book your Friends tickets and any discounted guest tickets in advance to speed up your entry as these events are usually popular.

Pre-booking is essential for all visits at Christmas. 

Please book a relevant farmyard and playground, house and garden or garden ticket. Visit the event page for details of the ticket required.

Chatsworth Family Festival | dates tbc

The Family Festival takes place in the garden and follows a series of family-focused activities across Chatsworth designed to help keep children entertained over the May school holidays.

Chatsworth Garden & Plant Fair | 5 - 7 June 2026

Join us in the garden for expert talks and the opportunity to meet and buy from specialist plant nurseries. There will also be live music and local food.

Chatsworth Country Fair | 4-6 September 2026

• As a Friend, you receive an adult day ticket for every adult member for use on one day of the fair. Children aged 15 and under, or included in a family membership, do not need a separate ticket.
• A link for country fair tickets will be sent in early August 2026 Please follow the instructions provided. 
• Please note that you will need your membership type, membership ID number (the first 10 digits of the membership number) and your postcode for verification. 
• Please note that a Friends day ticket does not include entry to the Ringside Pavilion, or priority parking.

Christmas

Christmas at Chatsworth | 7 November 2026 - 3 January 2027

• Christmas at Chatsworth tickets are included in your Friends membership. Tickets will go on sale in Summer 2026, and you will be notified by email when they are available to book.
• We recommend booking early to avoid disappointment as the Friends ticket allocation can sell out at peak periods, including market days, weekends and the week before Christmas.

Pre-booking is essential for all visits over Christmas.

Christmas market | 7 November 2026 - 13 December 2026

• Chatsworth Friends can book Christmas Market car parking tickets as part of your membership. Tickets will go on sale in Summer 2026 and you will be notified in advance by email when they are available.
• We recommend booking early to avoid disappointment as tickets for the most popular periods sell out.

Pre-booking is essential for all visits over Christmas.

Christmas in the Garden | 7 November 2026 - 3 January 2027

• Tickets to the garden and garden light trail are free to Friends but must be booked in advance.
• Please book via the event page when they are released.

10% off Chatsworth talks, tours and workshops for membership card holders only. Guest tickets are not discounted.
